  My husband and I have been going to the Ulster on weekends when we are free from work, to sample the various beers they have on tap, which they change regularly. The service has always been prompt and friendly and the beers on range delicious. We went there for our wedding anniversary on a Saturday night. Again the service was friendly and professional and the food was fantastic. The scotch steak with jus was mouth watering and the pork with seasonal vegetables, kipfler potatoes and honeyed pears was perfect. We had "My wifes bitter" and a local red ale that tasted of salted caramel. Perfect night.

  Another one of those gems you frequently unearth in Ipswich. Ransacked following being badly flooded during the Jan 2011 floods the owner's daughter and her husband have done an excellent job in renovating this Ipswich iconic pub. The Ulster now presents more as a refined eating establishment (rather than a typical pub) with excellent choice of food and beverages. Apart from the great bar and dining facilities it also has a very good function room. The Ulster proves again that quality continues to be a genuine feature of Ipswich's expanding social scene. Well worth visiting, repeatedly.

  Have been here a few times now and the food is always of a high quality and delicious. Staff are great and its just a really nice place to eat and have a drink.
